In a short time, it has managed to launch Malta’s first Car Sharing operation and Malta’s first ever ride pooling provider with Cool Ride Pooling. Debono Group aims to continue growing by focusing on improving mobility as a service in the local market.

Debono Group is seeking to engage a HR Manager to join the Human Resources Team. 

The HR Manager will complement the existing HR team which is responsible for supporting the whole Group. In this role, you will be expected to be a role model to employees and an ambassador of the Company Culture, whilst also ensuring that our people have an exceptional employee experience throughout their journey with us. 

This position is being offered on a full-time indefinite basis and reports directly to the Chief People Officer.  

The Position 

  • Partnering up with the management team to discuss and plan people development strategies
  • Provide coaching to the management team on HR related processes and protocols
  • Facilitating discussions re the planning of headcount requirements
  • Conducting research on EU funded employee training schemes;
  • Manage payroll reporting 
  • Preparing and assisting in HR audit requirements
  • Ensuring that Jobsplus and employee files are kept up to date 
  • Managing the full recruitment cycle for assigned teams
  • Responsible for all onboarding and offboarding administrative tasks and processes
  • Attending HR training and/or conferences
  • Carrying out annual salary benchmarking exercise
  • Maintaining and updating HR policies and procedures
  • Maintaining HR system to ensure employee data is always available 
  • Identifying and implementing HR initiatives in line with the annual HR Strategy
  • Coordinating and organizing training programmes for the Group
  • Actively participating in team meetings and driving initiatives to completion
  • Assisting the Chief People Officer with ad-hoc projects
  • Any additional duties that may be assigned from time to time

The Requirements

  • Be highly experienced in all areas of HR and talent development;
  • Demonstrate awareness and good understanding of all local HR legal regulations;
  • Possess excellent people skills with a positive ‘can do’ attitude;
  • Be familiar with developing and managing internal training programmes;
  • Have an excellent command of both verbal and written English and Maltese;
  • 4+ years` experience working in an HR Management role;
  • Be highly organized with excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Adopt a ‘hands on’ approach to work;
  • Proficient in using systems;
