• Identifying reliable and cost-effective shipping agents for our logistics requirements.
• Route freight to provide the most economical transport of goods and to meet customer or other requirements.
• Negotiating of possible SLA agreements with shipping agents.
• Issuing request for quotes (RFQs) for freight as necessary from established freight vendors.
• Make decisions based on service quality, price, transit-time, etc.
• Minimizing transport and packaging costs as much as possible.
• Liaising with the finance department on advanced payments, invoices due, urgent payments, etc.
• Providing required information to insurance broker to cover marine cargo insurance.
• Generating purchase orders for freight and obtaining necessary approval signatures.
• Track, trace, and update the status of incoming/outgoing shipments.
• Inspect through third parties’ freight upon arrival, document any signs of damage, and resolve freight claims in a timely manner.
• Inputting of stock.
• Registration on NSO data / CMR’s etc.
• Verify receipt of purchased goods from suppliers, locate product, process paperwork, and complete all necessary transactions according to established procedures.
• Courier planning (incoming/outgoing).
• Coordinate preparation of products, spare parts, return parts, and other items for shipment following established procedures for packaging, crating, boxing, bundling, wrapping, strapping, and labelling.
• Submission of non-conformity claims in cases of damages or lost/missing items.
• Maintain freight expenditure within set budgets.
• Filing necessary documentation by adhering to the departments’ SOPs.
• Provide support to the procurement function when necessary and contribute to minimising OpEx.
