Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the draughtsperson/designer shall be responsible for turning concept ideas, rough sketches or drafts into accurate technical designs to be then presented to our clients. Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to:
Conducting occasional site surveys, i.e. taking precise measurements for the optimisation of available space
Preparation of rough preliminary sketches followed by detailed and accurate AutoCad generated drawings
Performing bills of material calculations, ensuring they’re in line with load calculation tables and regulations
Managing and maintaining records and documentation of the Technical Department
Acting as a link between the various departments within the company (or external to it) to ensure set procedures are followed (create, gather and distribution of information) from initial RFQ to final handover
Preparing Project start-up and closeout binders for the Site Assembly Teams / Project Coordinator
Keeping project files (electronic and hard copy) complete, accurate, and up to date in company databas
Carrying out any other duties as requested
Requirements
Held experience in a similar role for at least 2 years
Experience in computer aided design programs, Autocad (2D is essential, 3D will be considered favorable)
Ability to make manual sketches and rough drafts
Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong attention to detail, planning and organisation
Excellent reading, writing, organisational and communication skills
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment as a team player
In possession of a clean police conduct and a valid driving license
